Why We Do Not Keep Finished Inventory
A shoe on a warehouse shelf had its fit decided months before you arrived. We make yours after you order, from the measurements you send or the size you choose, in 10 business days. That also means you can change the color or material or add a monogram on any product, and there is no unsold stock to discount.

Most footwear and jackets are made before the customer exists. A brand decides how many units of each size to produce, stores them, then waits for someone whose body is close enough to that size.
That is efficient for inventory. It works less well for anyone outside the middle. Size runs are weighted toward the most common sizes and one standard width, because every extra width means another set of lasts and patterns in every size. If your foot sits near the edges, the stock was never made with you in mind.
Inventory forces the fit decision to happen months before the customer arrives
A shoe size is a label for one brand's last, and it mostly records length. A jacket size mostly records chest. Neither says much about the girth of your foot, the height of your instep, your calf, your sleeve length, or how your shoulders relate to your torso.
When a finished item is already sitting in a warehouse, those decisions are locked. A cobbler can stretch a leather shoe a little across the width, but never make it longer. A leather jacket can't be let out, because every needle hole in leather is permanent.
Made after order changes the sequence
Our process begins with the style you choose. You then send your measurements, and a fit specialist reviews every submission before production. You can also choose to keep the size you ordered. Only then does the workshop start.
This is not bespoke. A bespoke maker carves a personal last for you and holds fittings. We start from a standard last and adjust it where your measurements fall outside it, with no personal last and no fitting appointments. If you keep the size you ordered, the item is made in that size.
The tradeoff is time
The obvious cost of making after order is that you do not receive the product tomorrow. Production takes 10 business days after we have your measurements, then shipping typically takes 3 to 5 business days.
We think that tradeoff makes sense for products expected to be worn for years, particularly when fit is one of the main reasons customers struggle to buy footwear or jackets in the first place. There is a second tradeoff: you can't try the item on before it is made. That is why accurate measurements matter, and why you can change them until production starts.
The benefit is not endless customization
Each item is made for one order, so some details can change with it. You can choose the color and material or add a monogram on any product. Some accessories, such as bags, have a minimum order. The style's design and construction stay as they are.
It also means there is no unsold stock to clear, so we don't run discounts. The price you see is the price. Fit information comes first, production second.
The problem we are trying to solve
You should not have to choose between a style you like and a fit your body can actually wear.
See the fit process →Choose the style. Send your measurements. Then we make it.
We don't pull a finished pair or jacket from a shelf. Your order starts with the design you choose. Then you send your measurements, or keep the size you ordered, and a fit specialist reviews them before production starts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why don’t you keep boots and jackets ready to ship?
Because ready-made stock fixes the fit months before anyone knows who will wear it. A standard size misses things like the girth of your foot, your calf, your sleeve length, and how your shoulders relate to your torso. We make each item after the order instead, from the measurements you send or the size you choose.
What happens after I place an order with Rebels Market?
You choose the shoe, boot, or jacket first. Then you send your measurements, and a fit specialist reviews them before production, or you keep the size you ordered. Production takes 10 business days, then shipping typically takes 3 to 5 business days.
How long will my made-after-order boots or jacket take?
Production takes 10 business days after we have your measurements. Shipping then typically takes 3 to 5 business days. Sending your measurements soon after you order gets production started sooner.
If I already know my shoe or jacket size, why do you still ask for measurements?
A size label is only a starting point. It does not describe the girth of your foot, your instep, your calf, your sleeve length, or how your shoulders relate to your torso. You can keep the size you ordered instead. In that case the item is made in that size, and the fit depends on that size being right for you. That is why we encourage measuring.
Is made after order the same as fully bespoke or custom tailoring?
No. A bespoke maker carves a personal last for you and holds fittings. We start from a standard last and adjust it where your measurements fall outside it, without a personal last or fitting appointments.
Can I change any design detail because the item is made after I order?
Yes. You can choose the color and material or add a monogram on any product. Some accessories, such as bags, have a minimum order. The style's design and construction stay as they are.
Do you take differences between my left and right foot into account?
Yes. If you tell us your feet differ, you send length, ball girth, and a tracing for each foot, and each shoe is built to its own foot. For boots, calf circumference is taken for each leg too.
